With makeup, all kinds of creative trends pop up through the seasons. But, elegant women do not automatically jump on the bandwagon. They are judicious with trends and only pick elements they know will work for the polished look they adhere to.

Therefore, if you wish to make elegance the manifestation of your confidence, it is important to be consistent with what works. Looking polished often takes just a few little changes that have a huge impact on “putting you together.”

Here are some of these subtle tweaks for a polished appearance:

1. Using a radiant primer

Forget glossy skin for, while it looks great, all things can quickly go wrong with it in a span of an hour. Instead, use radiant primer for a natural glow that peeps through a thin layer of foundation or BB cream. This primer helps in making skin still look like skin, but so much healthier.

2. Spot concealing

If you have a few blemishes that can still be seen through your thin foundation, do not build up on foundation to hide them. Instead, get a small makeup brush with a bit of concealer to spot conceal, and then use your finger to gently blend around the perimeter of the concealed blemish.

This makeup trick will create a flawless but more natural finish. Plus, it’s a great way to prevent a cakey appearance as the hours pass.

3. Cleaning up the eyebrows

Make sure to preserve the ideal shape of your brows by tweezing new growth and cutting stray hairs every other day. After that, fill in the sparse areas with a brow product.

It is important to have your eyebrows on point because they frame the face. With the right cleanup, your brows can make you look “stronger” or more youthful.

4. Concealing the natural color of your eyelids

Hide those tiny blue and reddish veins around your eyes either with a primer or concealer and then apply your preferred “natural” eyeshadow. For most women, the perfect natural and neutral color is champagne because it works on all skin tones, and it provides just enough splash of shimmer to make the eyes more alluring.

If you want to lightly define your eye shape, though, and make your look a bit dramatic, use taupe eyeshadow. Concentrate that near your lash line before smudging it. It will give the illusion of thicker lashes and can really amp up your overall look.

5. Curling those lashes and defining them

Curled lashes can make you look more awake. On a lazy day, you do not even need to apply eyeshadow to look put together, just curl your lashes and apply mascara generously.

A top makeup artist cannot stress the power of curled lashes enough and even speaks highly of a lash perm procedure because perky lashes are perfect for counteracting the look of droopy eyes by lifting the corners.

6. Applying a bit of blush

Flushed cheeks create a lovely glow but make sure that it’s just a subtle amount.

Pat on coral blush (the universally flattering shade) on the apples of your cheeks for a healthy color on your face.

7. Scrubbing your lips before putting on lipstick

Nothing can ruin a great quality lipstick more than dry, chapped lips.

Any colour of lipstick looks great when it is applied on smooth lips. So, make sure your puckers look pretty with lipstick by using a sugar scrub before application or brushing your lips with a soft toothbrush.

Also, an important makeup artist tip to follow is to use lipstick that offers great hydration, or to top your lipstick with gloss. This will prevent crustiness and it will make your lips look fuller.

Elegant every day

A polished look is achievable in these seven easy ways.

So, if you want to look inarguably good every single day, just follow the quick and simple tips shared above. This way, you will always exude your unique brand of self-confidence whenever, wherever.
